The Wellness Center will provide those travelling from remote and northern locations with
accommodations that far exceed the standards currently available in existing facilities, some features
include:
On-site kitchen with included meal-plan serving culturally appropriate and balanced meals to
residents prepared by our inhouse Chef.
Large common room to foster a sense of community within the Wellness Center.
Included transportation, providing clients with regular service to and from Winnipeg’s major
hospital and pick up from the airport.
All located in beautiful location directly on the Assiniboine River, providing an environment
conducive to healing.
This project is the result of the hard work of Chief Smoke, who has led the community for the last 25
years. The community of Orville Smoke Wellness Centre is one of the smallest in the Province of Manitoba and has
struggled to receive adequate funding for their people. Chief Smoke and the Economic Development
team at Orville Smoke Wellness Centre hope that this facility represents a historic step towards self-sufficiency and
independence for their people, providing jobs, training and opportunity to their members.
